Welcome 2026! Hope you had a great first day of the new year! I know some of us are traveling home. Some are recuperating from all the festivities of the holidays. Some are taking down their holiday decor (mine stay up until February). Some are just relaxing and reflecting on the past year.
Whatever you did, I hope you enjoyed the day.
Now to prepare for the next holiday.
But , before you do, I encourage you to take some time to think of this past season. What worked? What didn’t? What events did you go to? What did you miss? What would you do differently? What could have made things easier? What memories did you create? Gifts given, gifts received, cards written. Write this information down for yourself. By next year, those pieces of information and the feelings you had about them will all but be forgotten, allowing the same mistakes and the uncertainty of improving. Preparation is key in all that we do. There is always the chance that something unexpected happens, that’s just life, but the better we prepare, the earlier we start, the better. The earlier we finish the work, the more we can enjoy the memory making moments. And that’s what it’s all about.
